Clay puts his hands on your shoulders and looks you directly in the eye. "Good man. Ye wouldn't survive long without knowing how to survive out here. I'm guessing with all your worlds comforts ye never slept a night out or hunted for yer food. Ye probably can't even light a fire by yourself. Come, I'll show ye how." 

Clay teaches you how to use a Fire-Bow to light a fire. After several attempts you discover how easy it is once you know the right way to do it. It's almost a mechanical process. 

"We are short of wood to burn. Will have to do a detour to the Forest along our way. We can travel North-West a day, we might reach it by night-fall. Otherwise we have to find water to make some tea to warm our bellies. Still got some Hill and Woodland Herbs from last time we were in the Forest. Aye, damn lucky we escaped, too. The Bandits sure nearly had us. Which reminds me, I will show ye how to use a Sword and Axe tomorrow for fighting. Ye may need to know it especially as a Night-Haunt has taken a liking to ye." 

The rest of the night passes without any incident. 

Next morning you both head North-West together.
